ABOUT US

Heliostats are sophisticated devices that, before electricity, were used to reflect sunlight into dark areas of a building. They used a clockwork-driven mechanism to rotate a mirror to follow the sun and keep the beam focused in the same location. Today's heliostats use computers to move the mirrors and focus the sun’s rays on a target in a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plant.

The themes of:
 (1) shining light into dark places,
 (2) focusing on a target, and
 (3) adjusting and moving as the world moves around us
are the inspiration behind the naming of Heliostat Capital.

Heliostat Capital was formally established in early 2024 after a year of analysis, development and surveillance following the bank seizures in spring 2023.

We believe that seven years of zero Fed Fund Rates (12/08 - 12/15) and the attendant economic distortions, followed by the seismic dislocation of the pandemic, high inflation, and the fastest rise in Fed Fund Rates since the 1980s produced a significant credit overhang across a majority of market participants. This drove the recent sectoral stresses (e.g. CRE) and bank troubles including recent seizures, mergers, and portfolio sales.

We believe there is more work to do.
